The adults and teens enrolled in our martial arts classes all learn Shotokan karate, aikido movement and takedowns, judo throws and falls, karate tournament style sparring, jiu jitsu submissions and no-gi grappling, Chinese weapons, personal self defense, kickboxing striking, and martial gymnastic kicking, all in our regular martial arts program.
Students enrolled in our classes also have the opportunity to train in more advanced martial gymnastics, wushu movement, weapons, advanced self defense, no-gi grappling, or participate in the gymnastic TrixTeam at no additional cost.
Our goal is to create truly diverse and skilled martial artists, with a heart for lifelong learning and sharing their art.
Adult Martial Arts
(Teen/Adults Age 13+)
The martial artists enrolled in our adult/teen training program all learn Shotokan karate, aikido movement and takedowns, judo throws and falls, jiu jitsu submissions, Chinese weapons, personal self defense, kickboxing striking, and martial gymnastic kicking.
What We Teach:
White belt beginners start off with safety, movement, falling, basic self defense, and karate fundamentals. As students progress in their skill levels, they are allowed to test for higher belt ranks. Throughout this process, according to each student’s skill level, we introduce new martial arts styles and more advanced techniques, fighting, weapons, and grappling. Over the course of each student’s training from a white belt beginner, through the intermediate belts, to a full-fledged black belt, our goal is to create a truly diverse and skilled martial artist, with a humble heart for lifelong learning.
Weapons, Fighting, Parkour and Gymnastics:
In addition to the regular martial arts classes, students enrolled in our classes also have the opportunity to train in more advanced wushu/martial gymnastics classes, weapons classes, no-gi grappling classes, participate in the gymnastic TrixTeam, and be involved with the Assistant Sensei training program (wherein they learn teaching and communication skills), all at no additional cost. Our monthly tuition is all-inclusive, and gives each student the opportunity to train and pursue their interests and skills as much as their personal motivation and schedule will allow, with no increase in price for doing so.
Students in the teen/adult age group typically start off training a minimum of 2 days per week (although they are all welcome to train as often as they like at no additional cost). Beginner (white belt) martial arts classes for this age group are Tuesdays at 6:50pm, Thursdays at 4pm, and Fridays at 5:15pm. Adult white belt students are also welcome to attend the kids white belt classes if they want, for extra practice, at no additional charge. The kids white belt classes are Mondays/Wednesdays at 5pm and Tuesdays at 4pm.
Our Beginner’s Package is the best way to get started in your training. It is just $58 and includes a private lesson, a month of unlimited classes, your karate uniform and belt, training DVD and book. The private lesson is required for every new student prior to starting group classes, so you can call 541.385.4985 or email firstname.lastname@example.org today to book it!
We encourage all students to train extensively, pursue their martial arts interests and grow their skills through whatever training or competition opportunities may arise, and we even have set up the Good Thought Good Action Foundation to provide scholarships to assist any student in pursuing additional training, either in or outside of our dojo. We have tuition options and discounts that assure that martial arts training will be affordable for literally every budget.
Aside from our regular karate training, we do lots of activities with our teenagers to make their training experience more fun and enriching. All of these additional activities cost nothing to participate in. We do Teen Nights (cosmic bowling, capture the flag, poker nights, etc.) for all teens of all belt levels to get together and have fun. There are Dojo Ladies-Only Activities (sushi dinners, pedicures, ice cream parties, snow shoeing, etc.), and Dojo Guys-Only Activities (field day, hikes, movies, paintball, etc.), that offer special bonding times for smaller groups of teen and adult students. We also do community service projects, and offer training for students interested in teaching karate. Our teens rock!!
